This is the best and longest lasting type of truncated dome. But, it has to be installed in wet concrete. It is the best truncated dome because they are installed perfectly flush with the surrounding concrete surfaces. These are great when placed in front of a busy grocery store with many shopping carts rolling over the truncated domes. Surface mount truncated domes tend to get damaged very quickly when placed in front of a grocery store.

Surface mount truncated domes are mounted directly on to the concrete or asphalt surface. There are some that are mounted with screws and adhesive, and are rigid, and also others that are flexible and have a self adhesive. The self adhesive surface mount truncated domes are the easiest to use for the average person that has not done this before.
